From the 21st of November 2019 casapiena microcentro hosted Gianluca Concialdi in an artist’s residence that culminated on the 6th of December with the exhibition Vagabondi Eccellenti.

The title of the exhibition is linked both to the vicissitudes of Concialdi, back then in precarious housing conditions, and to the dispersion of the Madonie territory, funnily renamed United States of Petralia Soprana. Assisted by the experience of the area o ered by casapiena microcentro, Concialdi, an artist with a vast knowledge of materials in arts and cra s, among pleasant wanderings created a map of the Masters who still resist the erceness of globalization, embracing the dedication of casapiena to work with local artisans. In making the paintings, which will be his rsts on canvas, Concialdi used natural priming based on products such as egg tempera, experimenting with centuries-old techniques that involve the use of animal collagens. He applied pork glue instead of rabbit skin glue, commonly known as animal gelatin, used in bakeries and therefore easily available.

Thanks to Francesco ‘Ciriddu’ Vazzano, the last forge of the Madonie, whom realised the snake-grills; Piero ‘U Gridduzzu’ Richiusa for cutting, welding and nishing the barbecues; Davide Cusimano for the home-made bread, Daniel Gatenio for the poster and the Librizzi-Gennaro family for their constant support.
